Organisation of the Cluster of Excellence
The Cluster is headed by the CEF Assembly, consisting of the Principal Investigators of the Cluster, the CEF Investigators, Adjunct Investigators and Senior Investigators. The University President or Vice-President is a non-voting permanent guest. The CEF Assembly elects the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. The Executive Director calls a meeting at least once every three months to report to the CEF Assembly in all matters concerning the Cluster, in particular budgeting, staff, investments and space. The CEF Assembly coordinates the research and graduate teaching activities of the participating research group. An international Scientific Advisory Board composed of six outstanding scientists in the relevant fields, nominated by the CEF Assembly and appointed by the University President for a period of 5 years, will monitor the progress and consult the Cluster on a regular basis. The SAB advises the Cluster, especially with respect to recruitment and appointment of CEF investigators, and will review the Cluster`s activities every 2 years, in anticipation of the next round of application anticipated for spring of 2011.
The CEF administration consists of the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, a manager in charge of scientific affairs and public relations and an secretariat.
