CEF International Symposium on Structures, Mechanisms and Dynamics of Membrane Complexes
24-25 September 2015 - Bad Homburg, Germany
Studying the structures, mechanisms and dynamics of macromolecular complexes in the membrane is a central research area of CEF. In recent years, more and more atomic structures of membrane protein complexes have been resolved as a result of steady advances and some important leaps in technology at all levels. Complemented by significant progress in the analysis of membrane protein structure and function at the level of single molecules, molecular spectroscopy, proteomics and molecular dynamics this has paved the way for deep insights into the molecular mechanisms, assembly and dynamics of theses complexes. From four distinguished external speakers and in more than ten presentations from CEF groups, we will hear about these exciting new developments with a focus on transporters, multiprotein complexes involved in energy conversion and related protein complexes.
