In the center of the large ribosomal subunit (50S, grey) lies the peptidyl-transferase-center (lilac). Zoom: Linezolid (yellow) overlapps with the binding site of the A-tRNA in the 23S RNA of the ribosome (lilac). The A-tRNA is thus not able to bind in a productive manner.
