Stefan Knapp to receive the Industry & Academic Collaboration Award
April 2017. Stefan Knapp will receive the Industry & Academic Collaboration Award from the British Biochemical Society. This award honours outstanding individuals who have made inspirational contributions to the biosciences and to industry–academia interactions. Stefan Knapp receives the award for his development of protein interaction inhibitors targeting bromodomains. This project was part of the SGC epigenetic probe program which developed a comprehensive set of potent and selective inhibitors covering most bromodomain families. Inhibitors targeting bromodomain containing BET proteins entered now clinical testing in oncology.
