Martin Pos from the University of Zürich joins the CEF
Martin Pos accepts the offer to become CEF Professor of Membrane Transport Machineries. His research focuses on the structure and function of membrane transport machineries, in particular on tripartite multidrug efflux transporters and their homologues. Many of these membrane proteins play important roles in drug resistance and cell morphogenesis. Martin Pos has extensive experience in the fields of molecular microbiology, membrane protein biochemistry, membrane transport and membrane structure elucidation via X-ray crystallography.
Martin Pos was born in the Netherlands and did his PhD and first postdoc at the ETH in Zurich. After a second postdoc in Leeds he moved back to Zurich in 2000 where he worked first at the ETH and more recently at the University of Zurich.
