Structural Studies of 13C,15N-labeled RNA by Solid-State NMR spectroscopy
10 June 2010. RNA plays multiple roles in genetic information transfer, but also in regulation of transcription and translation. As with membrane proteins, structural studies of RNAs are scarce. The groups of Glaubitz and Schwalbe now introduce the use of solid state NMR spectroscopy for the study of isotope labeled RNAs for the first time. The described methods published in the journal Angewandte Chemie will provide new options for structural studies of large RNA-protein-complexes and studies of RNA folding using freeze-quenching technologies.
